Film Students Standing

Any student can take this IB Film course! The course aims to develop in students the skills necessary to achieve creative and critical independence in their knowledge, experience, and enjoyment of film. The course is divided into three sections inextricably interwoven through the course; textual analysis, film theory and history, and creative process. Through a textual analysis of films and a study of film history students will enhance the development of their creative, analytic and production skills. Students will create scripts for documentaries that study specific film styles and techniques, develop oral presentation that critically analyze short film passages, and produce short films. This course is great preparation for testing in IB Film Cinematography junior or senior year. You can even join SkillsUSA and compete in regional and maybe even state competitions. Remember skills pay the bills!

Learn how to work in the game design industry. Use the Unity or Construct.net game development ecosystem: a powerful rendering engine fully integrated with a complete set of intuitive tools and rapid workflows to create interactive content. Includes instruction in graphics software and systems; computer programming; digital multimedia; graphic design, video game design and development; graphics devices, processors, and standards; attributes and transformations; projections; surface identification and rendering; color theory; algebra; geometry; trigonometry and introduction to various mathematical concepts related to interactive computer and computer graphic-based applications. You can even join SkillsUSA and compete in regional and maybe even state competitions. Remember skills pay the bills!

Recording Arts and Sound Reinforcement Technology OSPI CIP Code 100203

School of Rock Students Standing

Learn and apply skills in music recording techniques, music editing, mixing, and creating finished musical recordings for distribution as sound files in order to enhance, convey, and capture the expressive intent of music. Includes instruction in sound equipment operation and maintenance, music composition, dialogue recording, sound effects and Foley, sound track editing, dubbing, mixing sound, final media production and export. You do not have to be a musician to take this class, just love music and sound! You can even join SkillsUSA and compete in regional and maybe even state competitions. Remember skills pay the bills!

 

Grading

  • The grade book will be maintained in Schoology
  • Schoology grades will be synchronized with Skyward Assessments will consist of either 1-point (completed - yes/no) or 4-point (quality) CTE, 21st Century Employability Skills, and/or other academic standards
  • If the student meets or exceeds the assignment stated standard by the due date a score of 1-point will be awarded
  • If the student does not meet or exceed the assignment stated standard by the due date, a score of “0” will be assigned
  • Students can submit or re-submit assignments until the assignment meets or exceeds the standard and be awarded the associated 1-point or along the 4-point scale
  • No penalty will be assessed for late work, BUT no late work will be accepted during the last two weeks of the term
