IB Level Annotations = Origin, Value and Content + Value and Limitation of each

 

Origin = Three sentences minimum that address these topics. Where did you find the source (Website, book, article, pamphlet, blog, and encyclopedia…) and what type of source is it (Who produced it? Not just their name but what are their qualifications?)?

  • VALUE = one sentence minimum- How does the origin make your source of value to yourself and others (questions you answered or still have- how did it help or not help your investigation)?
  • LIMITATIONS = one sentence minimum - How does the origin make the source limited to yourself and others?

 

PURPOSE = One sentence minimum - What is/was the author’s purpose for writing/publishing the information you found. Was it to inform, persuade, entertain…

  • VALUE = one sentence minimum - What is/was the value in writing this source to yourself (Questions you answered or still have - how did it help or to help your investigations) and others?
  • LIMITATIONS = one sentence minimum- What limitation did you find in the author's purpose to yourself and potential future users?

 

CONTENT = One sentence minimum - What specific content did you find?

  • VALUE = one sentence minimum - What is/was the value of the specific content you to you in the construction of proving or disproving your thesis?
  • LIMITATIONS = one sentence minimum - What specific limitations did you find in the content? (Language, wordings, intended audience, out of date information, possible bias or conflict of interests, advertisements or information not covered)
