Free Computers for Kids
- Page Carter is coordinating free computers to kids with the help of Free Geek Olympia, computer recyclers, Generation TECH, student computer technology training program and Capital High School host to the technology support and repair
- New program running only in Thurston County and being piloted by Capital

- On course via a virtual high school option with professional teachers responsible for each student with a cost of $350 a student
- May be a good option to Nova Net
- Need to consider Alternative Learning Experiences, ALE, isssues if funding is coming from the State, WAC 392-121-182
iChat
- New Mac's can have up to four people chatting with video conference at one time
- May also use just text or audio
MathCasts
- Kids record videos of themselves solving math problems
- Can see and hear the student method and thought expressed in problemsolving
- Use Snapz Pro to capture the audio and video on the Mac

Promethean Boards at Capital
- ActivBoard presentation with many resources
- Their solutions are both PC and Mac
- Met Sonny Magana who stated that Issaquah has put in place a great model of technology training with Promethean solutions. He recommended that we visit with teachers that are going to use it.
- Dave Gaston, Randy Lobe and Jen Fabritius are planning to use these boards
