Arts & Recognition Night
Event Date: May 20, 2008 6:30PM in CHS Auditorium
Event Purpose: To recognize students in scholastic achievement, service, fine arts, performing arts, and music.
Recognition includes: top ten class honor students; scholastic club achievement in speech and debate, knowledge bowl and DECA; service awards for yearbook, student store managers, academic mentors, and life skills students; scholastic achievement via the Bausch and Lomb Science award, National Merit Scholarship and Washington Scholar awards; arts honors for POSSCA scholarship recipients, writing and fine art competition winners ,theater, state orchestra, vocal and band competitors and IB diploma candidates.
Awards include: Scholarships, gift certificates, and certificates of achievement
Nominations must be placed in Michelle Anderson's box in the CHS main office no later than, April 18, 2008.
Writing and Fine Arts Contest entry forms will be delivered to faculty during the week of March 3rd, via classroom visits. Entry forms will also be available in the Library, ASB and Administrative offices. Students must submit their entry no later than April 18. Writing entries should be delivered to the Library staff, ceramic to Incorvaia, drawing and painting entries to Ms. Carlson. Writing and Fine Arts Competition will include: Fiction and Non Fiction essays and Poetry, Photography, Painting, Drawing and Ceramics.
The CHS Recognition Event is a great opportunity for our students. Not only do these honors recognize current achievements, but they also serve to enhance our student's future career and academic goals.
