SAT - The Scholastic Aptitude
Test (SAT) is a nationally normed test of student
critical thinking
skills to determine chances of academic success at college.
Administered
seven times a year, the test is offered on Saturday mornings at
Olympia High School and lasts over 3 hours and 45 minutes. The three
areas
scored are Critical Reading, Math, and Writing.
SAT II - Subject tests in specific
subject areas offered several times per year.
These tests are
required by the more competitive colleges for admissions
consideration.
ACT - A
nationally normed test providing testing in four sub areas: English,
math, reading, and science. There is also an optional Writing test. The
test is
offered locally on Saturdays at Capital High School
and lasts several hours. Scores
may be used by colleges in lieu of
or in addition to SAT testing; check with the
colleges to which you
are applying.
