CAPITAL HIGH SCHOOL COURSE TRANSFER GUIDE

SOUTH PUGET SOUND COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The Running Start courses listed below are the ONLY courses that may be used to satisfy specific Capital High School graduation requirements. All other SPSCC courses will satisfy general elective credits only.

HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS SPSCC COURSES

  1. 11th English/Junior American Literature
    NONE (Jr. English must be taken at CHS)


  2. Math
    Any Math 100 level or above


  3. Science
    Any Science 100 level or above (if meeting a science Graduation Requirement must be a lab science)
  4. Social Studies

  5. Washington State History
    HIST 125 (History of PNW)


  6. World History
    HIST 101, 102 or 103 Western Civilization AND a quarter of World History from another geographic area


  7. U.S. History
    HIST 111 AND 112

    NOTE: Two World History or Two U.S. History college quarters must be taken in order to meet the required high school EALRs (Essential Academic Learning Requirements).
  8. Senior Social Studies

    Occupational Education

    Any 100 level course or above in
    Business, Technology, Occupational Education
    ie: CIS, HORT, DENT, etc.

    Physical Education
    See attached list of OSD approved courses. NOTE: PE 180 (Lifetime Wellness) at SPSCC can be taken for one year of health/PE.
    PE 181, 182 and 185 only may also be taken to replace the health portion of Health and Fitness for the Class of 2008 and above.

    Credit conversions: 5 credit class @ SPSCC = 1.02


    4 credit class @ SPSCC = .80
    3 credit class @ SPSCC = .60
    2 credit class @ SPSCC = .40
    1 credit class @ SPSCC = .20
