A student must have two years of math in order to graduate from Capital High School. The courses of Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus are sequential college prep courses and enrollment in any of these courses requires credit in all the courses before it. Most four-year colleges require a minimum of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 for entrance. Students should check with counselors about specific requirements. IB diploma candidates must reach the Pre-Calculus and Calculus level, or must take Discrete Math. Specific information is available from the IB coordinator.
