Skills Review and Discussion of how kids will demonstrate their competency from our programs
- How do we teach Initiative? - We don't know yet :) More on this at a later date.
- Employability and SCANS skills discussed. (More needs to discussed and related)
- Resume and Portfolio - representing student ability. Luke stated that people trust what they can see.
- Marc and Jerome asked how do we prepare for artistry? To be discussed at a later date.
Photography Related Issues
- Discussion about a flash studio setup
- Jerome and John recommended we purchase an "Alien Bee" set up
- Kevin explained the new learning tool
- Kevin presented the photo contest need for judges
- Charlie explained how comments can help the kids improve their process and confidence
Vocational Fair Review
- Charlie suggested moving it to the Olympia HS commons and it becoming recruiting arena for local business. He stated that the space at the District offcie was a bit cramped.
- Marc mentioned wireless capability as a plus
Scanning Ideas
- Who is going to archive the old news papers to new media?
- Charlie initiated discussion on this topic and its business development potential.
Action Item
- Teachers will keep developing the "how" for the pathways.
- Scott will be attending the Multimedia / Web Design Pathway development meeting April 6th and is attending the WITEA Conference in Wenatchee this Friday looking for ideas of the "how".
- Photo contest judging on Tuesday, April 26th, probably at 6:00 PM, to be confirmed later.
